Milan Cathedral the centre piece to this northern Italian city

In earlier times 286 A.D. Milan was the capital of Western Europe.

Edict of Milan that granted official toleration to Christians in the Roman Empire that would later give way to the church being the dominating figure of Europe. This very same situation is transpiring in the U.S.A. today.

When persecution of Christians by Constantine’s brother-in-law Licinius broke out in the Eastern empire Constantine used this as a pretext to battle, together with his son Flavius Julius Crispus which lead to Constantine being the sole ruler of the Roman Empire.
